Sep. 8th, 2008 02:31 pmSo, my English professor took attendance today, and there is a guy in my class named Joaquin. Except for one thing: the guy pronounces it joe-ah-kin.
Is this an actual pronuncation of it, or were his parents (or him, if he purposely changes the pronunciation) just being stupid? I have never heard that particular pronunciation before (I've only ever heard the wah-keen pronunciation), so I guess that I could be the stupid one here.
