I have been reading about Pen Names lately on this community and I am (hopefully) startig college soon to major in literature to become an author. I write mostly scifi/futuristic stuff. I was into fantasy/vampire stuff for a while too but.... scifi is my thing!
Anyway I've had pen names in the past, the ones I most used being:
Alita (I later added the surname Andrews) - This name came about from a manga series called Battle Angel Alita. I look physically a lot like Alita and she has mechanical wings and I took that as an inspiration for my tattoo back piece of broken biomechanical wings. As for the surname Andrews, it was because of the author V.C. Andrews and after I read 'Flowers in the Attic' I decided to use the surname.
Benjamin Andrews - I have always been a fan of having a very masculine name. I also was considering using this name for a child (male though). I love the sound of Benjamin and when I was married to my ex we had decided on the name Benjamin Andrew (his middle name too) if we ever had a baby boy. I still would love to use the name sooo using as a pen name became kind of weird.
Damien Thorn - Yes... sooo cliche I know... we all know The Omen and I love the movies (I, II and III anyway) and I am usually writing darker stuff (I never create too much of a 'happy' atmosphere in my stories... nooo). I also adore Damien on me... it just seems to go well with who I am.
As much as I looove these names I was thinking of maybe trying something new for a change. The only ones that truly does fit my style now is Alita (because of the whole Mechanical Angel thing...) So I wanted to ask for help/suggestions. I would preffer if the names weren't classic at all. Out there names are fine. Only one rule though! No Jayden/Jaden/Aidan/Aydan/Brayden/Braden... you get my drift, non?
Thanks!
