[identity profile] sharon20lostie.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
From Celebrity Baby Blog:

It's another girl for NASCAR driver Eric McClure, 29, and his wife Miranda. Daughter Maryleigh Isabella McClure was born on Wednesday, August 27th at 7:21 p.m. She weighed 5 lbs, 10.7 oz. Maryleigh joins the couple's oldest daughter Mabreigh Elizabeth, 17 ½ months.

I've never heard of Mabriegh before. Its sounds nice. Mabreigh and Maryleigh are just terrible as a sibset, even if the names are okay-ish on their own.

i agree - although not my style, the names are just fine on their own, but not as a sibset!

Mabreigh is gross. I don't mind Maryleigh, but that is too close for a sibset.
Also, isn't Elizabeth a form of Isabella, or vice versa?

These people are the opposite of the creative parents we see all the time!

Isabel(la) is the Latin version of Elizabeth; it is originally from Spain, Italy, etc.

neither name is even slightly "okay-ish." they are both horrendous. mabreigh sounds like you were half-way through saying maybe and changed your mind, and maryleigh is just awful.

I was wondering if it was creative spelling of Mayberry (which would make him a fan of either Andy Griffiths or Rascall Flatts)

I had a friend in college named Mabry, which I guess is the same as Mabreigh. Though I like Mabry better.

Mabreigh blows, but Maryleigh is nice, especially for a celebrity baby name. I hate Isabella, though.

Mabreigh looks ugly, and sounds too much like 'maybe' (to me, at least). I do like Maryleigh though.

And yeah, I agree, too close for a sibset!

Kind of Merrily, eh? The names are way too close to be a sibset, that's what I think. I don't like Mabriegh at all.

I dislike both names.

And Maryleigh and Mabreigh are waaaay too similar.

There's a very busy road here in Tampa called Dale Mabry (which was named for founding father of Tampa, so I hear), and that's immediately what I thought of when I heard Mabreigh.

Mabry wouldn't be nearly as horrible as Mabreigh, but I still wouldn't like it as a first name.

I do like the name Mary, though.

Maryleigh? Like 'merrily'? It's not horrible, but... eh.

I don't like Mabreigh at all. It looks horribly made-up and clunky.

Wait; is it Mabriegh or Mabreigh? If it's Mabreigh, I'd be terribly tempted to refer to her as ma-BRAY. Honestly, parents. Just because you used more letters doesn't mean the name has been improved.

Agreed...which makes me thinks of a horse everytime I read it. Don't horses neigh/bray?

I have a cousin who named his daughter Mabry. It seemed awful at first but if you knew the country bumpkins, it fits.

maryleigh is cute, the other one not so much. and like everyone else said they're too much alike for sisters.

Not a fan of either of those names, but for being celebrities the parents could have come up with much worse. At least they didn't them after fruit.
