[identity profile] perfectcherry.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Well, we're in to the last several weeks of my pregnancy, as I'm officially due on October 6th; I don't really believe I'll make it all the way to my due date, however, so we may have a September baby.

Anyway, we have finally agreed on the girl's name Miranda and we're probably going to go with Gabriel Kenneth if we have a boy. The girls' middle names I'm leaning toward are Tempest and Rose; Kenneth is non-negotiable if we have a boy due to personal meaning, but Gabriel isn't totally set in stone. If it helps, our last name is one syllable and begins with a B.

Suggestions and comments, as ever, are welcome!

I don't really have anything to add, I like your choices. I would say Miranda Rose over Miranda Tempest, but that's about it.

I hope your baby is born on Oct. 4th, then he or she can be my twin (although I'll be turning 20 hahaha).

I think Miranda Rose B___ flows a lot better with a 1 syllable last name than Miranda Tempest B___.

I like Gabriel Kenneth B___.
For a 2 syllable mn followed by a 1 syllable last name, I think either 1 syllable or 3+ syllables for the first name are best.

Miranda Tempest is far too theme-y for my taste. And Miranda Rose just sounds a lot better.

I thought this, too. It's one thing to pick a Shakespearean name, but Miranda Tempest... it is a little much.

So, I vote for Miranda Rose!

I think you could also go with longer middle names, since you have a one syllable last name. The one that popped into my head was Isabel(la), although it is so popular right now, and some people don't like two names that end with the "a" sound. Anyway, good luck!

Miranda Rose, definitely. And, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] blosmtx as far as the boy names. :)

Good luck!

I was going to ask why Tempest, but then I looked up Miranda and saw she is a character in the Tempest. I love flower names, so Miranda Rose would be sweet. But I like Miranda Tempest too for how it sounds and cool Shakespearian factor. Or do you think that would be too literal?

Some boy-names that I like with Kenneth:
Jeremy/Jeremiah
Ian
Evan

I really like your names, so I'm afraid I won't be too helpful with suggesting :)

I like Miranda Tempest over Miranda Rose, partly because Rose is too much of a filler mn these days, and also because if you "translate" her name I prefer "a tempest worth admiring" over "a rose worth to admiring", although it's totally down to personal taste on that one.

I really like Gabriel Kenneth!

Gabriel Kenneth is pretty good, but I really like Miranda.

I think Miranda Tempest might be a little much, even though it does sound cool. Miranda Rose is pretty.

Rose is really like a filler middle name. Any specific meaning for it, or do you just like the way it sounds?

Miranda's pretty! And I like Gabriel Kenneth too. Personally I'm iffy on Tempest, but Rose is becoming the Marie of the 2000's.

Miranda Tempest sounds better with a one syllable last name. (imo)

That, and I love Tempest - it has personal meaning for me (although my Great-Great who was a Tempest apparently lived up to her name!).
Agreeing with a couple other posters - Rose as a mn is becoming very popular.

No suggestions on the boy's name, I think theyre nice as is :)

Gabriel has been my favorite boy's name since I can't even remember, and Miranda is my top girl name. If I had a daughter tomorrow, she'd be Miranda Jane. Not quite as elegant as Rose or Temptest, I admit, but I like it.

Miranda Tempest is nice, I think, but it might be a little over the top Shakespearean. Besides, I think Miranda Rose sounds just a little better =).
