Final Month!
Sep. 4th, 2008 02:36 pmWell, we're in to the last several weeks of my pregnancy, as I'm officially due on October 6th; I don't really believe I'll make it all the way to my due date, however, so we may have a September baby.
Anyway, we have finally agreed on the girl's name Miranda and we're probably going to go with Gabriel Kenneth if we have a boy. The girls' middle names I'm leaning toward are Tempest and Rose; Kenneth is non-negotiable if we have a boy due to personal meaning, but Gabriel isn't totally set in stone. If it helps, our last name is one syllable and begins with a B.
Suggestions and comments, as ever, are welcome!

Date: 2008-09-04 08:14 pm (UTC)I like Gabriel Kenneth B___.
For a 2 syllable mn followed by a 1 syllable last name, I think either 1 syllable or 3+ syllables for the first name are best.
Grant
Elijah
Jefferson

Date: 2008-09-04 09:40 pm (UTC)So, I vote for Miranda Rose!
I think you could also go with longer middle names, since you have a one syllable last name. The one that popped into my head was Isabel(la), although it is so popular right now, and some people don't like two names that end with the "a" sound. Anyway, good luck!

Date: 2008-09-04 08:21 pm (UTC)I was going to ask why Tempest, but then I looked up Miranda and saw she is a character in the Tempest. I love flower names, so Miranda Rose would be sweet. But I like Miranda Tempest too for how it sounds and cool Shakespearian factor. Or do you think that would be too literal?
Some boy-names that I like with Kenneth:
Jeremy/Jeremiah
Ian
Evan

Date: 2008-09-04 08:31 pm (UTC)I like Miranda Tempest over Miranda Rose, partly because Rose is too much of a filler mn these days, and also because if you "translate" her name I prefer "a tempest worth admiring" over "a rose worth to admiring", although it's totally down to personal taste on that one.
I really like Gabriel Kenneth!

Date: 2008-09-05 12:46 am (UTC)That, and I love Tempest - it has personal meaning for me (although my Great-Great who was a Tempest apparently lived up to her name!).
Agreeing with a couple other posters - Rose as a mn is becoming very popular.
No suggestions on the boy's name, I think theyre nice as is :)
