[identity profile] twitchywoman.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

First off, I heard the name McKenna today on a video for the Star Tribune, it was the male commenter's name.
The reason I am posting here though is I remember doing a project in 7th grade on President John Tyler and that he had 15 children.  I thought I'd post the names here and then also some birth announcements.

John Tyler had eight children with his first wife Letitia Christian Tyler:
Mary
Robert
John
Letitia
Elizabeth
Anne Contesse
Alice
Tazewell
He had seven children with his second wife Julia Gardiner:
David Gardiner
John Alexander
Julia Gardiner
Lachlan
Lyon Gardiner
Robert Fitzwalter
Pearl

Birth Announcements:
Katelyn Desiree' Dawn
Brenna Jo
Eli James
Sienna Rae
Brayden Lee
Elizabeth Anne

McKenna sounds nice, but "Mc" is always before a surname. I think "Mikenna" would be better.

McKenna is a really pretty name but definately not manly at all- I'd say it's 100% feminine.

holy crap he had a lot of kids!

i like:
john
mary
elizabeth
anne
alice
david
john alexander (but wtf repeating?)
julia
lachlan

mckenna on a guy? somehow i dislike that even more than on a girl. it's my cousin's daughter's name and while i generally hate it . . . it fits her. sigh.

i also like:
eli james
elizabeth anne
katelyn is okay but desiree and dawn are awful; brenna is just so substance-less and jo doesn't help matters. i don't like sienna and brayden at all.

Two Johns and two Roberts?? I guess when you have 15 kids, you start running out of names you like. LoL

my daughters name is makenna. i didn't like McKenna even though it's the most popular spelling. Makenna fits her perfectly, and i wouldn't think of mckenna being manly.. weird. =)
