I still have a long time to pick, but I want some opinions.
I like the name Addison for a girl, do you think it's too fruity for a boys name? My fiance says it's "gay" sounding.
What are some good shortforms for Addison?

Also, Which spelling do you like for Zach? Zack, Zak? I always liked Zak but after being here I'm starting to think it's trying to sound cool, hah.
My fiances last name is Storozuk.
Zak Storozuk? It looks and sounds weird, right?

EDIT-
NO It will not be just Zach/Zack, those would be the nn's.
Most people get called the shortened form more often than their full name.

Am I over analyzing?
Thanks!

Addie would be a good short name.

I don't think Addison is 'gay' sounding (dear God), but it is used on girls way more often than it's used on boys, so he would probably be mistaken for a girl on paperwork, etc. Honestly, I think Addison is a terrible name for a boy or a girl. It's the epitome of trendiness. It's also the name of a disease.

Zach, as a nickname for Zachary, is good, but Zachary/Zach Storozuk is kind of a mouthful.

The only Addison I've ever known was a boy. However, he spelled it Adyson. And he was born in 1987, his mother was so ahead of her time.

Um, names can't be "gay."

Addison is a boy's name. People have suddenly decided to use it on girls, but it is awful sounding on them. I hate it on boys, too, but it is marginally better. I mean, seriously. Probably one of the trendiest names ever right now.

Zach or Zack is the right spelling. Zak looks way too creative and definitely trying too hard to look cool. It definitely looks and sounds weird with your fiance's last name.

Wow, I've never seen a person overwhelmed by letters, particularly Ks and Zs. But that's kinda cool, actually. Plus, if these are your problem names, then eliminate them. It makes decision making that much easier.

ANd I agree, Addison is a bit uhh... fruity sounding for a guy.

I like Zach the best when paired with the last names.

Or, this is kind of odd, and I'm assuming the full first name would be Zachary or Zackary. Why not, when he's a bit older (maybe 3, maybe 5) let him decide how he prefers to spell Zack/Zach/Zac/Zak. And even still he might change it when he's older.

I remember my hs boyfriend was Jonathan, and went by "Jon" sometimes until he just changed it to "John" - he preferred it that way.

Addison is the new Ashley. It used to be a boys' name, but it isn't anymore.

Ever since Kate Walsh played Addison Montgomery on Grey's Anatomy, the name has been skyrocketing. So it makes sense that you don't know anyone by that name; the tremendous amount of people (mainly girls) called Addison is now about 2 or 3 years old.
But I think by the time your child will be in kindergarten, it will be a common name.

Try going here (babynamewizard) (http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager) and type 'Addison'. You can see it's grown in popularity, especially for girls.

It's ranked #11 for babies born in 2007, and I'm sure it will probably be even higher for 2008. :-\

I do think that Addison is a bit too feminine for a boy, just because ever since I heard it, I always thought it was only a girl's name. It just sounds so girly to me.

And I prefer Zac.
