I am reading The Warrior Queens by Antonia Fraser which she dedicates to her 11 granddaughters.
I thought there were some pretty good names in there, so here they are:

I think a lot of these are really cool, especially Stella, Atalanta, Oriana, Miranda, Allegra, Eliza.

I really am not a fan of Blanche, Honor or Phoebe.

I like Eliza, Ana, and Cecilia. I know a couple that just named their baby Honor and it has become sort of a guilty pleasure name of mine. :)

For some reason I have always hated the name Stella.

Anyone who names their daughter Atalanta is amazing. ^_^ I love that name, but would never use it because there are too many people in my family and family's social circle ignorant of Greek mythology, and I would be too annoyed of all of the "You meant Atlanta, didn't you?" and "Why'd you mess up the name Atlanta?" comments to be keep using it.

I also like Phoebe, Stella, Blanche, and Ana Sofia.

Well Fraser is a biographer and author and I just read on wikipedia that all her 6 children (Benjamin, Damian, Orlando, Rebecca, Flora and Natasha) are either authors or biographers as well so I guess they have come into contact with many good solid historical names.

i really love stella and cecelia. and i think ana sofia is intriguing. i love the name anna, and prefer it that way, though i know its pronounced differently.
