For my little boy:

I'm adoring the name Anthony.

Question:

Would you use it being the first name? What about the middle name?

I know a Roy Anthony. What other names work with Anthony?

For my little girl:

Ambrosia Star.

Like? Dislike?

Thanks.

I love Anthony.

Anthony Michael
Anthony David
Anthony James
Anthony Lewis
Anthony Laurence
Anthony Reid

I don't like Ambrosia Star. To be honest, it sounds like a stripper name.

I like Anthony, but I prefer Anton, after a character in a book, named Frederick Anton (Reiker) :)

Ambrosia Star sounds like a porn actress, but I'm not necessarily against that!
I just don't like Ambrosia if it's pronounced Ambro-sia like A-sia.

I like the name Anthony, however, I could be a bit biased, as it's my boyfriend's name.

He's an Anthony John.

Other Anthony's I know (whose name combos I like)
Anthony Scott
Anthony Carter
Anthony Laird

If my boyfriend and I have children together, the firstborn son will be named Anthony Lee, in honor of my boyfriend's deceased father. I'm fine with Lee--it's also my boyfriend's middle name AND my dad's--and Anthony has really grown on me, although I told my boyfriend I refuse to use the nickname Tony.

Ambrosia is not my usual style, but while doing family research, I found that my great-great-great-grandmother was a badass woman named Ambrosia who travelled around out west back when it was still pretty wild. From that alone, the name is pretty much awesome in my book. She used the nickname Aimee, which I actually really like.

Ahh, I don't get a visual of a porn star... but Ambrosia to me sounds like a disease... maybe an std.

I love Anthony. I think it works as either a middle or a first name. Ambrosia Star, however, is horrendous. It sounds like a stage name a stripper or a drag queen might pick, at best; at worst, a porn star.

Ideas for Anthony:
Anthony Michael
Anthony Nicholas
Anthony James
Anthony Peter
Anthony David
Anthony Charles
Anthony Matthew
Anthony Lucas
Anthony Samuel
Anthony Ryan
Anthony Daniel
Anthony Silas
Anthony Vincent
Anthony Liam
Liam Anthony
Silas Anthony
Ryan Anthony
Lucas Anthony
Charles Anthony
David Anthony
Peter Anthony
James Anthony
Nicholas Anthony
Michael Anthony

Anthony is a family name for me, my grandfather and uncle are both Joseph Anthony, and my great-grandfather and uncle were both Anthony Michael.
I also have cousins named Drew Anthony, Logan Anthony, and Nathaniel Anton (a variation).

I kind of like Ambrosia actually, but it's a bit of a mouthful for a little girl. What nickname, if any, would she go by? Ambrosia with the nickname Rosie would be cute. I honestly think Star is kind of a dumb name for a human. How about Stella, which is the Latin word for star?

I like Anthony, but I hate the nickname Tony. For that reason I like it better as a middle name. Anthony sounds so different from most boy names that I think it sounds fine with just about any first/middle name.

Suggestions:
Anthony Aurelio
Anthony Cillian
Anthony Dawson
Anthony Desiderio
Anthony Dionysius
Anthony Errol
Anthony Lazarus
Anthony Moritz
Anthony Regis
Anthony Thierry

Colbert Anthony
Colin Anthony
Cormac Anthony
Dalton Anthony
Elias Anthony
Elliot(t) Anthony
Emil Anthony
Errol Anthony
Levi Anthony
Niles Anthony
Paul Anthony
Winston Anthony
Xavier Anthony

I have to agree with others who have said that Ambrosia Star would probably have a hard time being taken seriously. One could maybe carry off Ambrosia, but the combo with the noun as a nickname....not likely. :/

I like Anthony...classic.

My boyfriend's name is Anthony Richard. :) His middle name is his dad's first name.

Ambrosia Star is trashy, imo. Both names would be alright on their own, but not paired together.

My cousin is expecting and if it's a boy, she's naming him Christian Anthony (the dad's name is Anthony Christian). I like the pairing with Christian, so maybe that's an option for you, too?

I do not like Ambrosia Star. Hate to say it, but even the names separately sound more like dog names than human names. But then again I'm a bit of a traditionalist. :)

Anthony's a family name for me - I'm not a fan of it, but I'd use it as a middle name to honour my dad. I really love Ambrosia though, but not with Star.

Another for the bandwagon

Ambrosia Star says - porn actress, stripper, lapdancer, hooker, or combination thereof. It's the sort of name they (or their pimp) would pick with the deluded idea it made them sound classy or sexy, without even having the faintest idea of what ambrosia is, except it's, like, sweet, right?

Dislike, in a word.
