so i met some twins recently...

their names?

makana and makala!

somehow, the genius who named these children thought they could legitimately be pronounced like makenna (i dont even know what the "proper" spelling of that atrocious name is) and michaela.

how that logic works, i am unclear.

if its pronounced like ma-kay-na then ew no :P

So funny b/c there is an adorable girl in my 2nd grade class named McKenna ....but me being obsessed with names automatically stumbled over the proper pronunciation. Of course the parents intended a Muh-Kennah pronunciation. Technically it should be said Mic-Kennah (with a double C sound) b/c you say Mic-Donalds... It irks me. Errrrrrr.

I once knew twins named Aaron and Erin. Granted it was on the East Coast, where those names are pronounced slightly differently from each other, but really! It's too much.

And recently I met twins Nadia and Aidan. See how they have each other's names, reversed? I think both names are fine, but I'm against cutesy sibling pairings.

If they were triplets, the third could have been Diana.

Funny.
I knew twins called Makenna and Mekalie (McKenna and Mikayli??... not sure of a nice way to spell either!)

Oh dear. Even Makenna would've been ok, and Michaela is lovely, even Mikayla would've worked. But those spellings... ew.

I wouldn't have thought "McKenna" and "Michaela" from either of those spellings. They are all sorts of horrible.
