Oy. So, I was shopping today and while in the baby section I overheard a conversation between 3 women who were shopping for a baby shower. The baby has an older brother and his name was apparently Jayden. The grandmother was having difficulty remembering which grandchild belonged to who and was confusing little Jayden with little Braden. :P For god's sake, I'm sure that the new baby will be either Aiden or Kaden.

I used to love the name Aiden and would defend it, but I'm officially sick of the trend.

I like Aiden. My husband and I had decided it would be our 2nd child's name if she'd been a he. I was amazed my husband liked it, too. But the popularity turned me off of the named. I don't actually know any little Aiden's IRL, but they seem to be birthing them by the millions here on LJ. ;)

I so agree. I love the names but I would never give my kid that name now that it's gotten so over the top popular.

I used to really love the name Braeden, but then I found out how popular all those names were getting and I dropped it in a second.

I was at Blockbuster the other day and this little girl was calling out to her brother Kaden.

"Kaden!... Kaden!... Kaden!"

and I thought "Omg, the trend is real. That's a real Kaden."

no wonder the poor woman was confused. jeez. maybe i am different, but why would you name your child essentially the SAME name as your sisters child? well, same name, change the first letter. blech.

once upon a time, probably over five years ago, i liked aidan, and even hayden a little bit. but theyre so ruined, its unfortunate. i would never use any of them. like, ever.

I have loved Aidan since years before the trend, and since I'm a few years away from having kids, I'm hoping when I do the trend will have passed, but one can only hope, right?

I also love Kaden, but I'd spell it with a C instead.

I used to love Aidan, too, before the whole trend. I always liked Caiden for a girl with Caidy as a nickname.
