Would it be completely horrible of me to name my first born son Ozzy? Yes, it would obviously be after Ozzy Osbourne. I know the whole 'Prince of Darkness' thing will probably not sit well with some but meh.... how would you react to the name?

I actually love the name Ozzy.

I think it would be a great nickname, but not a name by itself.

I know a little boy named Oscar who has the nickname Ozzy. Of course you could always use Osbourne, Oswald...or even closer Oz (Hebrew name meaning strength), Ozel, Ozer, Ozeri, Ozni.

Just what I was thinking. :)

I second this. Ozzy is a cute nickname, but I feel like that's the kind of name that, if they grow up and need/want to sound like an adult- an alternative full name would be a good option for them to use.

I'm not a fan, but mostly because it sounds incomplete as a full name to me. Maybe naming your son Osbourne with the nickname Ozzy?

My sister had a hyper ass Yorkie named that...so I'd say, nah...wouldn't like it for a kid. ;)

If it were a nn for something I think I'd like it better.

I'd assume it was just a nickname for Osbourne, actually, or something similar. At the very least, while adults might raise an eyebrow, schoolchildren probably won't be overly familiar with him, so there won't be any teasing from them.

i would save it for the dog, or cat, or something other than a child.

i dont really see ozzy osbourne as any kind of person i would want to be named after. but maybe thats just me?

i know a guy named ozzie, but his full name is osmond.

This. Not for a person, and only as a nickname.

I think it's kind of ridiculous to name a kid after a popular musician (or celebrity orf any sort). it's basically projecting your taste on your kid, and he may grow up to be embarassed by being saddled with a name with such obvious connotations.

lol. That's pretty much my reaction. I don't have a lot of love for Ozzy, so I'd think his parents weren't very creative and had poor taste in music. Even worse so if you were into dressing all 'price of darkness'. That said, it could probably work as a middle or nickname.

It's definitely not my style, but besides that, I can't really see it aging well. It'd be cute for like, a week, and then eventually you'd end up with a thirty-year-old man named Ozzy. Which only works for like, two people. I guess that I would react fine though.

It's fine as a nickname, but I think it's a little silly as a full name. My cousin Oscar goes by Oz, and I've known an Owen who went by Ozzy, so I think there are plenty of things it could be a nickname for.

I think of Ozzy from Survivor and he is CUTE! His name is Ozcar(I think). I think it's a cute name.

If I met somebody who told me his name was Ozzy, I'd ask him what it stood for. I'm not sure I'd believe that his parents gave him Ozzy, and just Ozzy, for a first name.

Ozzy is lovely! As long as it's not his official first name (too nicknamey), then it's great!

No, it would not be horrible. It's fine and way way better than all the crapola trendy names out there.

There was a famous 70s British fashion designer called Ossie (pr. Ozzy) Clarke, in case it makes you feel any better about it.

Most people I know with the nn Ozzy have it because of a portion of their last name.

I think it's kind of badass, but if I were you, I'd go with a longer name and use Ozzy as a nickname. That way he can avoid teasing by using his 'real' name, and you can still call him Ozzy!

Just naming him Ozzy is a bad idea, in my opinion.

I like Ozzy as a name, but it seems to be just a nn. I'd rather see him be named Ozwald or something.
