What do you guys think of the names;

Livia / Lavinia - possibly a bad connotation with a character from shakespears play who has her hands and tongue cut off. But the name is just soo so pretty.

Leila/Layla/Lila - Not sure which I pronunciation or spelling I prefer, (Lay-luh) & (Lee-luh) & (Lye-luh)

Scarlett -

Violet -

I have this problem with Layla, because my Sister and Brother in law picked it for their newborn. With their last name, it sounds like Lalalalala to me. Otherwise, I know a Layla who is totally rude... so I don't know. I know for sure I will love my New Neicey, but I just... don't really like their choice of name with their last name.

And as for Violet, I love it!

Otherwise, not a fan of the other names.

It's similar, it's got a ton of L's in it. :/

I like Livia, but not Livinia, and I like Leila or Laila pronounced Lay-luh and Lilah pronounced Lie-luh. Scarlett is too much for me, but I do like Violet.

My mother's name is Leila (pn: lee eye luh) and my daughters name is Lilah (pn: lie luh) so I obviously love both of those names. I adore Violet and think Scarlett is a wonderful name on the right little girl, but have a hard time seeing it on an adult woman. I'm not terribly fond of Livia, but I think Lavinia is a nice name, not my taste, but a fine name just the same.

That's how I'd pronounce Leila too. :)

Livia, I like; prefer it so much more than Olivia. Lavinia, I've never read the play that she's in, I just think it's an ugly name.

I don't like Leila or Layla or Lila. I always had a cat named Scarlett, and no matter what, I just don't see it a person's name. And our cat was named after Scarlett O'Hara, so I know that it is one.

Violet I really like, but it seems to be getting so popular, I'm gonna have to be dropping it from my favourites list.

Julie Taymore's Titus Andronicus scarred me for life, so I'm anti-Lavinia.

My husband and I both love the name Livia, but we have that unhealthy Masterpiece Theatre fixation.

Side note, but we have been getting a great crop of figs this summer off our trees. Every time someone leaves the room, there is this awful compulsion to look over your shoulder and say "By the way, don't touch the figs" to whoever is left. Livia Augusta is one of my personal heroes.

I used to babysit a Livia. I loved her dearly but her mom had to move away:(
Her full name was Livia Soleil. Her sister was Kiana Aurora.

livia doesnt look like a full name to me, but i love it as a nickname, and love the nickname liv. i like olivia.

i dont like the whole leila/layla/lila trend happening right now. its not a pretty name to me, at all. i loved the name leila when i was like 12.

not a fan of scarlett.

i love violet, i think its beautiful.

Livia's interesting, although I still prefer Olivia. Lavinia reminds me of the snotty girl from A Little Princess. It was the first time I heard the name in use, and that's all I can think of when I hear it now.

Layla's my favorite, but I like its variations, too. I prefer the LAY-luh pronunciations, for any spelling, but "Futurama" has also left a soft spot in my heart for the LEE-luh pronunciation.

I prefer the Scarlet spelling, but that's another of my favorites, regardless. There's something classy and elegant about it to me.

And Violet, yet another of my favorites, has a very sweet, friendly, quietly beautiful sound to it.

Livia has been a favorite name of mine for a long time. I just would hate to have people always mistaking it for Olivia

I adore Scarlett but if it's a bit out there for you it makes an exquisite middle name. My cousin is Erica Scarlett.
