see im the oppisite. I just figure if I want my kid called something besides their full name, I'd just name them that.. but thats me. :) and thats exactly how I feel about his name, cute & still masculine
I agree with you in the way that if i liked the name Libby I wouldnt use Elizabeth for the sake of it.. but I like short terms of endearment so i'm not fond of one syllable names... Like, Sophy becomes Soph, Emma becomes Em- affectionate nicknames! (i'm not sure that makes sense to anyone but myself!)
yeah that makes sense. I wouldn't name a child "Soph" or "Em" either, lol. but Im saying like, well using your example of Elizabeth and libby, when people say "I like the name Elizabeth, nickname Libby" then its like why don't you just name her Libby?
