Boy, by the following strange logic: I know Eliana and Liana are girl's names, so I would assume Lian was male like boy name Elian. Possibly not the most accurate way of doing it...

I knew a boy called Lien. Assuming it's pronounced like that (Liam with an N really), I'd say boy.
