Date: 2008-07-28 03:39 pm (UTC)The American Girl book series uses "Kaya" as their Native American girl. Both names are pronounced the same but the heritage/spelling is different.

Date: 2008-07-28 03:51 pm (UTC)I adore Lexi as a nn for Alexa, I like Avery and Eden (despite the religious connotations, which I do not like), and I love Drew as a nn for Andrew on boys, but not girls. I could deal with Kaia (prefer Kaya) and Janette. The rest I do not like at all.

Date: 2008-07-29 04:55 am (UTC)Isn't it kind of unfair to a kid to have matching names with a sibling? I mean, it's great that you're honoring your son, but it's a bit cutesy.

Date: 2008-07-28 08:52 pm (UTC)Meg, Tess and Lisa sound all right -- although I like Meg as a nickname for Margaret better, and Tess as a nick-name for Theresa. Meg as a nickname for Margaret just seems more classy than Meg as a nick-name for Megan.
