Last night I had a dream I had a son and I called him Orion, like the constellation (oh-rye-en). I laughed about it when I woke up but all today it's really growing on me!

I doubt I'd call a child that, but I can't believe how much it's grown on me. Probably the cool interstellar connotations.

WDYT?

Totally a guilty pleasure name of mine. I'd maybe use it as a middle name.

I've actually had a thing for Orion for a long time, thanks to a fan fiction (lol).
My best friend heard me talking about it and was like OMG I LOVE IT.
She wants to name a kid Phoenix Orion.

*dies*

Oh, Ryan.

I don't really like it. If I was going to give my child an astronomy-themed name, I would go with something like perseus, adhara, antares, capella or nova.

I love it when it's November and Orion is right on top of my house.
NMS but it's a nice name.

I've liked ah-rye-an for a long time, but the simplest way to spell it is "Aryan". "Orion" is a sort of favourite-by-default.

Right, that's why Orion is a favourite by default: because you can't call a child "Aryan" and "Orion" has a similar sound.

I know a 5 year old boy name Orion. He's the cutest little thing ever, and I think the reason that I like the name.

Well, I think Orion is a perfectly legit name, but you could always name him O. Ryan... like Oliver Ryan maybe.

I'm actually considering using it for a middle name if I have another son.

If I had twin boys, I'd use it: Owen (being our #1 favorite) and Orion (#2 but would only use for twin boys).

I see the appeal...but I think it's a little OTT for my taste.

My fiance & I love the name Orion, but we like it spelled Arion, who was a Greek poet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arion)

I know of an Orion, whose sisters are Electra and Imogen. I can't see why Orion is a bad name if Ryan is a regular name that sounds almost the same.
