Gotta love facebook. Twin girls I forgot I went to high school with (born mid 80's):
Mekalie (Mac-kay-lee)
Mekenah (Mac-ken-na)
A little too close in my opinion, but at least they weren't one of the many Lisa/Jessica/Rebecca's

On that note, two babies born this week with 80's names that seem somewhat weird on a baby:
Rebekah Jane, sister to Samuel
Jessica Faith, sister to Nathan and Bradley

You know... I still love the name Jessica. I wouldn't use it because it is my cousin's name, but it is one of the better 80's names.

I'd definitely rather be a Lisa, Jessica, or Rebecca, than a Mekalie or Mekenah.

I don't think Rebekah's too 80's at all. Spelt that way, it's one of my favourite names. I quite like Jane too, and Samuel, Nathan and Bradley.

I don't consider Rebekah to be an 80s name. Rebecca, yes, but Rebekah spelled that way and paired with Samuel sounds like maybe it was picked for religious purposes, plus, that spelling is much more of a classic name to me than Rebecca. I don't like Jessica Faith or Bradley at all, but I love Nathan, Samuel, and Rebekah Jane.

i always think it's weird to see a little girl named jessica. i have nothing against the name, it just seems so dated.

Samuel. That's about it. And I don't even really like Samuel, I only like Sam.
