I think of "I Love Lucy," and I love the name Lucille (and Lucy for short).

I think of my 15 year old neighbour who sits around doing acid in her backyard and like, cat tranquilizers and stuff.

It hasn't tainted the name for me though. I love it.

I adore the name Lucy. I think of Lucy Van Pelt from Peanuts when I hear it but that's probably more because of the character rather than the actual name. :)

I think of this Lucy, too :D And the song "Linus and Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi.

I think of Narnia. And sweet/cute/little girls. In other words, love it, but it seems nick-namey to me. I'd use it as a nn for something (most likely Lucretia).

I think of Lucy Van Pelt because I am a huge Peanuts fan and I think of my cocker spaniel named Lucy after Lucy Van Pelt. I love the name!

Love it :)
I wanted to use it for this one but our daughter Lillian is already named after one of hubby's grandmothers. Lucy (Lucia) was his other grandmother's name and we didn't want to start a war with my side of the family LOL

When I hear Lucy, I picture myself in a boat on a river with tangerine trees, and marmalade skies. :)

I think of a little Zac Hanson singing the song "Lucy"

LOVE LOVE LOVE the name. Adorable!

I love Lucy. It doesn't make me think of anything necessarily, but if I had to associate it with something my first thoughts were Seventh Heaven and then The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I Love Lucy didn't occur to me until I read the comments, even though I used to watch that show on Nick at Nite all the time haha.

I think of the beatles song, but generally I think of it as a dog or doll's name or something. But, for some reason I really LOVE it when it is a nn for Lucia or Luciana or something. :)

I think of I Love Lucy.
I usually love names that start with Lu- or Luc- but for some reason Lucy just doesn't really do it for me.

I kind of don't like it - it reminds me of the word 'loose' and the associations that may go with it.

Why, whatever associations do you mean?!? Hehe, j/k.

I love the name as a nickname to Lucille or something along those lines, but it's a bit too popular.

I think of Lucy from Chronicles of Narnia. I think it's so cute how they shorten it to "Lu" as a nn.

I simultaneously think of Lucy Van Pelt, Lucy from The Chronicles of Narnia, and Lucille Ball!

I like the name Lucy but it always feels incomplete to me, like it should be short for something else. I do not like Lucille, but Lucia is lovely (in any pronounciation IMO)

I can see that, I feel that way about the name Maggie. It's like she'll have to go around forever saying "No...it's just Maggie."

Lucie is my car's name so that is what I think of! As a person I think of a shy, quiet little girl.

in order... "i love lucy", my friend's daughter, "lucy in the sky with diamonds", then lucy from peanuts. mostly "i love lucy" though. "luuuuuuuuucyyyy, i'm hoooooome!" :)

I think of Lucy Steele from Sense and Sensibility first. Despite this, it's one of my favorite names.

Hanson's song Lucy. I started singing "The day that I left Lucy" in my head. But yes, I do like Lucy, right now it's one of my favourite names. That'll probably change by the time that I actually have children, because it seems to be getting a lot more popular.

I used to live in Little Armenia (in L.A.) and every other girl was named Lucy. I worked at a coffee shop where we wrote down names on the cups, and during busy times there would be three cups with "Lucy" on it.

It is a nice nick name, but a little to short and cute for a full name. To me it seems to fall in to the trendy, a little quirky, short name group with others like Ruby and Jack. Nice names, just over used to the point that they aren't cute anymore.

I love the name Lucy!! When I hear it, I always think first of The Chronicles of Narnia. That's my strongest association. Which is great, because I think Lucy Pevensie's character is such a fantastic one! :o)

I also like the show I Love Lucy, so that's good too...
