Jul. 23rd, 2008 10:54 pmI can't decide which to use for a girl (if we have one). My husband and I both like different spellings and we're having a hard time figuring out which one would suit best.
If you have any other suggestions or spellings not listed here (didn't think I missed any, could be wrong), please feel free to let me know! =]
Edit: And I don't want to hear any crap about using Marie as a middle name. I know it's considered "filler" by some. But, it happens to be my maternal Grandmother's first name and my middle name, so I'd like to keep that family tradition. This is my family's first great grandchild and it means a lot to me to use Marie if we have a girl. Deal with it.

Date: 2008-07-24 03:06 am (UTC)Based on your middle/last name, I'm assuming you're not Latino or Italian or anything, so I'd stick with Sophia/Sophie. Sophie Marie sounds best to me, but I like both.

Date: 2008-07-24 08:42 pm (UTC)I hope I'm not sounding rude or anything, I just want you to know before you name your baby something really popular. Congrats on being preggers though:]

Date: 2008-07-24 08:48 pm (UTC)I know Sophia is number six, but it's always been my favorite name, and it's the name my husband and I always talked about using, so I'm not about to change it just because it's popular. It means a lot to us.

Date: 2008-07-25 05:22 am (UTC)I did go to school with three girls in the same class- Sophia, Sofia, and Sophiya. I really do prefer the first spelling.
Sophia Marie has a much better ring that Sophie Marie, for statement purposes, though you do get used to everything over time.
