Today I came across this beauty

Mersadiez Leighahnne (Like, Mercedes LeAnn) just a God awful version of it.
Mercedes is an OK name, made even wose by the awful spelling. Leighahnne has too many H's close together.

Also my mom knows this woman who had twins, "Dolce Channel" and "Gabbana Vitton" Um....no, just NO!

Anyways, as of now my favorite names are;

Girls
Opheilia
Aphrodite
Venus
Amielia (without the NN of Mia.)
Kaydence, (What other wanys can you spell this name?)
Amelle
Amelie
Susannah
Sadie
Audrey

Boys
Leo
Dylan
Andrew (no Andy tho)
Lewis
James (Jamie?)
Mathew
Coop
Cole

What are some of the weirdest names you've heard?

Okay, so you don't like weird spellings, but 'Opheilia', 'Amielia', 'Kaydence', and 'Mathew' are all spelt wrong... it's 'Ophelia/Ofelia', 'Amelia/Emilia', 'Cadence', and 'Matthew'.

Aphrodite and Venus are way too over-the-top, in my opinion. Plus, when people hear 'Venus' they're also going to think 'planet' or 'razor'.

Also, Coop... like a chicken coop? Not good.

I love Amelia, Susannah, Andrew, James, and Matthew.

When I hear Venus, I think tennis... as in Venus Williams.

Age has nothing to do with it. People have been getting 'creative' with names for centuries (although before spelling was standardized around the 19th century, it was a bit different). Whether someone's naming their child 'Izybellah' in 1808, 1908, or 2008 makes no difference to me, I still don't like it.

Some people like creative spellings. I'm not one of them. I'll give my opinion about why it's a bad idea, and it's up to the person if they want to take it into account or not. But this poster was specifically making fun of other weirdly-spelled names, and then in the same entry, listed a bunch of weirdly-spelled names as her favourites. That was my point.

I wouldn't even pronounce that Mercedes, it'd be more like Mur-suh-dee-ez, or maybe Mur-say-dee-ez. Ew.

I agree with the first commenter on your own spelling.
I like Cadence, Andrew, and Cole.

"Dolce Channel" and "Gabbana Vitton"

Are those the actual spellings? Because accurately they'd be Dolce Chanel and Gabbana Vuitton.

Yes, I really hope these are typos, otherwise the fashion victims kids don't just have dumb names, they have dumb wrongly spelt names.

It took me a second with the middle names, simply because of the mis-spellings. I was like "Um..channel? Like as in TV Channel?....and does Vitton rhyme with Mitton?"

I hope, for the kids sake they're spelled correctly. They have enough of a shit hand as it is already.

I LOVE Susannah and Leo. Those are so sweet!
Weird ones I've heard: Clartasia, Jazzmyne, Stokley (for a girl...?)

Ugh, my boyfriend's little sister is named Jazmyne and while I love the name, I can't help but wonder why they didn't just spell it Jasmine? It's just as pretty, and she spends less of her life correcting people.

ewww Mersadiez Leighahnne is awful! Why the h in the "ahnne" bit?

Of your names I like Amelie, Susannah, Sadie, Audrey, Andrew, James and Cole. I kind of like Mathew, Leo, Dylan too. They're nice names :)

I would like Amielia if it's meant to be said the same way as Amelia, but from your chosen spelling I can't tell. Is it like Amy-Elly-ah, Am-YELL-ia, or just Amelia? I have a similar problem with Opheilia although not as much. It looks like it could be oh-FAIL-ya but I can assume in this case that it's not. I'm not a fan of the extra Is in those names because they make it a bit troublesome for me to read the name and be certain of the pronunciation - not because I care whether they're the "wrong" spelling. Kaydence is certainly wrong (because Cadence is an actual word) but it doesn't bother me too much because the pronunciation is so obvious and it's not an overly complicated spelling, unlike Amielia.

I can't fathom Coop as an entire name, only as possibly a nickname for Cooper. I think of a chicken coop, and then someone being cooped up at home with an illness. Venus has a lot of associations, and Aphrodite is too close to aphrodisiac and hermaphrodite for me to think of it being used on a child. It could make a cool middle name though if it means a lot to you.
