Carolina

When you see the name Carolina, what is your immediate idea of how to say it? Do you pronounce it like the state, or like Care-oh-leen-ah? I personally hate the way it sounds when it's said like the state, but love it the second way. Unfortunately, when I saw that name, I always used to think of the state, so I'm thinking many others will, too (and I'm Canadian!).

Do you think there's any way to spell it that will show that it definitely should be pronounced the second way, without looking kre8tiv?

EDIT: Thanks for all the replies, guys! I've realized that ... it basically varies with each person, lol. But, the few of you who said you would pronounce it like Care-oh-leen-ah is reassuring! :)

I also don't mind the spelling of Carolena. Anyway, thanks so much for all the replies and advice! :) 

This name is really growing on me and it's now on my top name list! :D

It depends on the context. If I see it as a name I say Care-oh-lee-nah. If I see North or South in front, I say Care-oh-lie-nah. Carolena isn't too bad kre8tiv-wise but I would always pronounce it the first way.
