Okay. So please,
HELP!

We are going in for our ultrasound on March 13th where we plan to attempt to locate sex and chose name for baby.
I have a girls name all picked out, but am COMPLETELY STUMPED on boys names.
My husband’s favorite name? Xanth….
I like it, but it just doesn’t seem right!
Some of my suggestions have been:
Xavier
Rex
Laurance (Law for short)
Adam
Adric
Clark
Acheron
Jordan
Kelric
Crighton
Trystan
Wesley

I want something not too popular, nothing that was high on the list last year…. (I’m a Jennifer, so I hate popular names!)
We both love SciF/Fantasy type names, names from books, ect.

Any ideas?
I like the idea of using the Middle name of Isaac, as it’s a family name.

HELP!

Xanthe is a girl's name.

Your names list is not bad, with the exception of Adric, Kelric, & Crighton.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of Acheron, considering it's a River in Hades and I don't think the connotation is great. I'm also personally not a big fan of Xanth (that's a little too sci-fi for the real world), Adric, Kelric or Crighton. And I like Tristan spelled with an I.

I like Xavier and Wesley, though. And Isaac is a good middle name. :)

To be off the wall and totally different: how about Xanatos (NN: Xani) or Thanatos (NN: Thani)?

Now to be normal: I like Tristan, Wesley and Kelric.

Thanatos means death. NOT a good name.

IT's the name of my mouse. My mouse killed his two roommates. XD

Thanatos means death. Thanatos was the God of Death and the son of Night and Sleep. There's a widely read poem called Thanatopsis so any well read person will know what it means. Not a pleasant connotation.

Xavier Isaac sounds great. Xavier is a fairly uncommon name, but it's not made-up looking or off-the-wall like some of the other ones you have.

Adam is the name I would like to use when I have a son, so it's definitely my favourite, but might be too normal for your tastes.

It's spelled LaurEnce. That's a good name, too. I love Laurence Isaac!

I don't like Tristan because it sounds emo, but if you want to use it, please spell it with an i.

Judging from your list you might also like the name Cedric.

It was a created by Sir Walter Scott for a character in his book Ivanhoe - I don't usually like character names, but I think this one's been around for long enough that it's a legit name in its own right (and it's apparently based on a real Welsh name?).

Xanth??? Like, the series of books? Great read..not so great name. The only ones I like are Adam, Tristan and Wesley, I'm partial to Tristan, it's on the top of my list of our next! I think Tristan Issac sounds great together.

Oh i love Rory.
Please don't use Crighton!
I'd suggest looking at ancient Greek names..
I'm reading a book & the main character is called Aeneas- Greek Mythology.
I've just googled some ancient Greek names & some of them are kind of cool, if not a little weird!
:-)

Aeson
Hero
Leo
Nicandros
Orpheus
Theo
Theas
Conon
Corydon
Brison

Xanth: NO. It's not a name.
Xavier: Better than Xanth.
Rex: Dog's name.
Laurance (Law for short): Lawrence or Laurence. Laurance looks weird.
Adam: love it.
Adric: a name? for your CHILD?
Clark: not my style but better than a lot of the ones on here.
Acheron: wtf
Jordan: too trendy, but OK if you must
Kelric: omg NO!!!
Crighton: see above
Trystan: I talked to a friend's 13 year old son the other day and he said everyone in his class thinks Tristan is a "wimpy dork name."
Wesley: eh

I think your best bet is Adam Isaac, Clark Isaac or Jordan Isaac. Remember, though you like scifi, your child may not.

Hmm.. boys names are hard, the names I love just happen to be popular what about Holden? It's from the book Catcher of the Rye. Or maybe Levi? I'm sorry, I'm not big on boys names.

I like Clark, Adric (are you hearing it like Ad-ric or A-dric b/c I like A-dric) and of course Jordan is always nice

I dont like the spelling choice of Trystan, Tristan is a stronger form, especially for a boy (in my opinion)

re sci-fi
