I go to Ohio State University and this summer I've been working at a pizza place.

OSU is a very spirited school with a very good football team. The school's colors are scarlet and gray.

Last week I overheard an orientation leader say that she wanted to marry a guy with the last name Gray so she could name her daughter:

Scarlett Ann Gray

Not a bad name, but I think it may be a little much.

I should hook her up with one of my exes. He was a total dick who liked hurting women, but hey, his last name was Grey. Hahahaha.

Wow... wasn't there a post a few days ago where someone named their kid Dorian Gray? What a versatilely desirable last name.

Sadly that's not the first time I've heard that. People are pretty nuts over OSU, huh? :)

Aw. At least it's a cute name. Not like Orange Ann Black or something.

Hahahahahahahaha, that's hilarious.

See, if it was a bad name, I'd say it was awful, but it's actually kind of cute, and I don't think it's bad. It's obvious enough for the parents, but really, unless somebody heard the story behind it, they wouldn't get it.

The only problem I have with the name is that I don't like two colors in the same name.

Better than the Reader's Digest joke about the sibset of Peter, Paul, Ann and Mary. =P ("I'm the conjunction!")

I'd be so pissed if my parents did that to me. Way to completely project one of your interests onto your kid for the rest of their life...

she could just name her kids Scarlett and Gray, :-P I don't think Maroon and Gold would make good names for my kids so I can't pull that off with my old school and I don't know my current school colors if they even have any.

Nice! I could marry someone whose last name is Gold and name my daughter Blue Ann. Or I could just name her Berkeley. Or Cal if it's a boy.

BTW I actually plan on using Berkeley as a middle name (or as a first name if I become famous and am expected to use a crazy name). Unless I fail all my classes and drop out or whatever.

All color jokes aside, Blue Ann is really cool :)

We Ohio people are we weird. Scarlett is a cool name, however, even from Ohio I think of O'Hara and not OSU.

Still, it could be much worst.

Oh I have a story about the name Tressl! I used to date a guy who wanted to name his first son Tressel (he is married now but as far as I know hasn't had any children so I'm waiting to find out about this one). The weird thing is we met at Bowling Green. We didn't even go to OSU!

I didn't get it either because I always thought Urban was a much cooler name (Urban Meyer the head coach of Florida used to coach at Bowling Green)

I like it b/c it doesn't scream OSU but has a cute story behind it. I also love the name Scarlett.

Too bad Crimson Ann Cream doesn't work at all. Neither does Boomer Ann Sooner..

I'd also make the jump to O'Hara before I'd get the OSU connection.
