Feb. 22nd, 2006 03:21 pmMy husband likes to read fantasy books. We've been thinking of names for our next child so we were talking about any names in the books he reads that come to mind or that he likes a lot. He mentioned Raistlin. I like how it sounds... but if you enunciate like I do... the "st" doesnt really hit me very well. So I thought of changing it to like Railin/Raylin/Railyn/Raylyn OR Racelyn/Racelin/Raislin/Raislyn I dont know though about it now that I've tried to change it. I like the concept more than the name.
Anyways, we're looking for names that match well with our son's name: Kade
I dont want his name, which is short and sweet, to be paired with Euciliptica or something overly exotic, but we do like atypical names.
Our last name is Loftin too.. so keep that in mind.
Suggest me some names for both sexes...thanks.
P.S. none of that Jayden, Kaden, Brayden (barf), Smayden, etc.

Date: 2006-02-22 04:24 pm (UTC)To be honest, I think if you like atypical names, you may want to go with something that doesn't have a -lin/-lyn suffix. These days, I feel like one of three boys is an -aden and one of three girls is a -lyn. Maddalyn, Kaylin, Shaelin, Caitlyn, Aislinn, Brooklyn, Jaclyn...
Plus, anything-lyn Loftin is a bit too rhymey, I think.

Rastlin was what I thought of, but it looks like "Rasslin'" which is what you do on the floor with another when you're not wrestling.
I'm sorry I wasn't more of a help.
