What would you use as a nickname for Adriana? And what about Adrienne?
Would it be the same?

Also, WDYT of the names? Which one do you prefer and what type of girl/woman do they make you think of?

My niece's name is Adriana and she has a grandmother who calls her Adri (Ah-dree). I hate that nn, though, and really can't think of any that I like for it.

I know someone who goes by Ady, pronounced ADD-ee.

That's funny--my friend Adrienne goes by Addie, but it's pronounced AID-ee.

Adriana is on my top 3! I like it a lot better than Adrienne, but I do like them both. Adrienne is more humble and down to earth, while Adriana has a bit more of a dramatic flair I think. Both strike me as someone who's very womanly yet can be a bit of a tomboy sometimes.

I do know that there's an Adrianne who goes by Annie. With both those names, and it's probably just people who I know of with them, I think of somebody very, very attractive. I can't help it. Adriana Lima and Adrianne Palicki.

I like both. Adrienne seems a bit older to me.

For a nickname...Adri.

I wouldn't use a nickname for either of them. I like Adriana better. They both sound kind of prissy and perfect to me.

Adi - AY-dee
I love both names, but I like Adrienne better!

I love Adrienne, but I hate Adriana. Adrienne makes me think of a really funny, really smart, well-put-together kind of woman. Probably because it's my best friend's name:) I call her Ade (don't know how I'd spell it, since I only ever say it -- the first syllable of the name) or Ace, which is for her initials.

My friend's daughter is named Adriana, and she calls her Adri for short.

My bestfriend is named Adrienne, and she doesn't really have a short-form, we just call her Add, because those are also her initials.

I was debating whether or not to name my daughter Adriana...but we decided on something else, as my husband didn't like it! :(

Oh, I love Adriana! Pronounced with a very strong nn. Not so crazy about Adrienne though. I think Adriana is a very feminine name. I think it's also a very strong and delicate at the same time. As for nickname, I'd use Addy.

I used to love the name Adriana. I still like it, but I don't totally love it anymore.

My cousin is named Adrienne, and her nickname is A, or Adri.
So I usually think of her or my friend's mom who's name is Adrienne.

I like Adriana, with Addie for a nn.

I prefer Adriana, because it sounds beautiful and feminine without becoming weak. Adrienne I have never liked, because it's the same name as Adrian... meaning it's boyish. -_- Adriana is beauty and brains; Adrienne is just brains without any fashion sense.

(Though baby name books contradict me, since they all say that Adrienne is sexy. I don't agree!)

Adrienne is one of my top names. I'd use Adri as a nickname. It sounds kind of exotic and mysterious to me. Adriana is also nice, and I'd use the same nickname for it.

I prefer Adrienne. It's one of those I'd never thought about until recently, and now I like it better every time I hear it.

I much, much prefer Adrienne, which is one of my favorites. Adriana just seems like one of those frilly princessy names that wouldn't age well, while Adrienne is suitable for any age. Adrienne sounds nice by itself. I can't think of any nickname I like other than Addie, which is OK, although there'll probably be lots of little Addisons and Adalyns using that nickname.

My friend Adrianne answers to Adge (Age), Adgie and Adri. I prefer Adrianne (and Adrianne/Adriana) better though.

I know two Adrianas: one goes by Adi (Ay-dee), and my girlfriend prefers to go by Adriana. Once in a blue moon she refers to herself as Adri, but only in a mocking tone.

I'm biased obviously, but Adriana makes me think of a strong beautiful woman. Adrienne... not so much. It seems a little hookerish to me. D:

Ana or Anne!! I actually much prefer the nicknames to the full names, but I like the nicknames so much it makes Adrienne/Adriana sort of ok.

We called her 'Nonny'. But it was only in an affectionate situation.
