(no subject)

I just saw Match Point. What do you think of the name Nola?

Pretty!

I don't mind the sound, but seeing Nola reminds me of New Orleans, LA and the recent hirricane.

I like Nora better. I mention this because they're very similar and thought you might like it too!

Sounds more like an animal name to me.

Maybe that's because it reminds of Nala from the Lion King.

I know someone with that name (one person only, she'd be about 22)... it's not my style personally but I think it makes a great name because it's not at all common, and is old-fashioned in a nice way... it's simple enough that people will be able to remember it. I like Nola much better than Lola.

I've been thinking lately, that it sounds like what TomKat would name their baby

I like it. =)

Well...

I like it! I think it sounds really nice. I like it better than Nora. It reminds me of Yola/Jola. :-)

Nola is a nickname for "Magnolia" in the play/book Show Boat.
