I feel like that would be the name of a cute little rodent in a children's film, like Stuart Little. In any case, if it's not Thomas, just Tom, I prefer Thom. But I dislike any variation of that name, actually.
What's the little guy like? I don't love the name but I can see it fitting the right little guy if he seems a bit serious and old-soulish. It just sounds really grown-up to me.
Completely old-soulish! His parents are quite traditional (even to the extent of cloth nappies!) and I think his name just fits perfectly. Thomas wouldn't suit him at all
I hope his last name isn't any form of Harry... cos otherwise he'd be any Tom Dick and Harry.
I like Thomas more than Tom, so to me it's a shame that Tom is his full name, but it's fine- a very normal name, nothing to particularly criticise but nothing particularly exciting about it either
In some parts of the world names like Tim, Tom etc. are not considered nicknames, but full names (The Netherlands and Belgium, for example). So maybe his parents are descendants of one of those countries?
I think it's more likely that they just liked the name Tom, though, but didn't like Thomas.
I think it's great. They knew that they were going to call him Tom, not Thomas, so that's what they named him. I completely support that name, and all others like it.
