I recently have decided I really like the name Gwen, but I'd use it as a nickname for something, but I just don't know what!

I REALLY like Gwyneth, but I pronounce it with more of an 'i' sound, not 'e' for Gwen.
I also like Guinevere, but not spelt Gwenevere.

So technically neither of these could be used as a full name for Gwen, y/n?
What other names are there? Do you like Gwen?

agreed! I actually prefer Guendaline, but that way you can use Gwen :)
out of the bunch, my favorite would really be Glenda, but it's a little far from Gwen, I guess

Gwendolen (because I hate names that end in lyn and because it reminds me of The Importance of Being Earnest)

I think Gwyneth could be a full name for Gwen.

Gwendolyn..although I don't like that spelling and am unsure of how else to spell it.

Gwyneth works too!

I know a little baby nicknamed Gwen and she is the cutest thing ever. The name fits her.

When I first heard her name, I said, "What?!? GWEN!?!? Who names their kid something that...old-ish?" But now I like the name and I adore the baby!

Guinevere could totally have Gwen as a nickname. I prefer this sooooo much to Gwyneth, which always reminds me of the actress (ewww).

Baby Names gave me these:

Gwendolyn
Gwenifer
Gwenillian
Gwennan
Gwenno

Then there's choices that don't actually start with Gwen, but sound the same. I like Gwennan, I think it's pretty.

Personally, I always thought the name was spelled Gwenyth until Ms. Paltrow showed up and now everyone seems to just accept it as Gwyneth.

I think you could get away with Gwenyth though. I think it's the "real" spelling and I like it better anyway.

i think it depends on how you want to pronounce it. i think gwyneth is technically pronounced more like GWIN-ith, while gwenyth would be GWEN-ith. i still pronounce her name the second way though. haha

I once met a woman whose name was Gwentha. I wasn't really sure what I thought of it at the time.

i like gwen, but not gwendolyn, gwyneth, etc. it's definitely used as a full name by itself. for example: gwen stefani was born gwen..it's not a nickname for anything. :]

Anything! Gwen on its own, Gwendolyn, Gwyneth/Gwenyth, Guinevere... could all be called Gwen.

I would probably go for Gwendolyn, but it reminds me of the spoilt brat character in Enid Blyton's Mallory Towers series :p
