[identity profile] fairyprincess0.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I am due to have my 2nd little boy on Aug 7th.

My first son's name is Brandon Cole.

This one will be Andrew, we know that for sure.
we don't know about a middle name tho. We are thinking either Andrew Shannon or Andrew Edward.
These are both family names.

So What do you think?

I prefer Andrew Edward to Andrew Shannon, but only because I prefer the gaelic spelling of Shannon.

May I ask what the gaelic spelling of Shannon is?

I kinda like Andrew Shannon, actually. I will probably be in the minority. But I think Brandon Cole + Andrew Edward is too beginning-of-the-alphabet to me. I'm weird.

Aw, congratulations. I love the name Andrew! I also love the name Edward, so I guess that's my favourite combination, but Andrew Shannon is very nice as well, as long as your last name doesn't start with an S. :P

I love the name Andrew! I'm neutral to both Shannon and Edward, so that makes it hard. I think I prefer Edward because it is classic and not at all trendy at the moment and is my brothers' middle name, but I've actually always hated the sound of it! So I kind of prefer how Shannon sounds.

Probably Andrew Shannon goes best with Brandon Cole, and makes it a bit less common too because I imagine there are a lot more Andrew Edwards out there

I guess I'm in the minority, but I prefer Andrew Edward. Shannon is just too much of a female name to me.

I like both combinations, but I think Andrew Shannon has a nice ring to it, and it's unusual. Andrew Edward is very very nice too, but it's so much more common, and it doesn't have the ring of Andrew Shannon. Neither choice is a bad one, though. So, as long as your last name doesn't start with S, my vote is totally Andrew Shannon!

Andrew Edward looks better to me just because I usually associate Shannon as a girl's name, but I do think that Andrew Shannon flows better. It depends on your last name though.

I actually like all of the names here!

I even like Shannon on a boy, although I like it better as a middle name, like you'd have it. I prefer Andrew Edward, but both are good.

Congrats! :)
Though I usually associate Shannon with a girls name, I think Andrew Shannon flows better and is probably, as some people already said, less common than Andrew Edward, which doesn't flow as well, at least to me. So my vote is for Andrew Shannon! (So long as you're not Mrs. S-!)

I baby-sit two brothers named Andrew and Brandon.
Andrew is Andrew Harrison.

Of the two, I prefer Andrew Edward.

I like Andrew Shannon. Though my own name is Shannon, so I may be biased. =P

But really, I do think it flows a bit better.
