Not pregnant nor planning to any time soon. But I have been trying to figure out what kind of names my partner likes, and find some we both like.

So most of my favourite's he described as "a bit hippy", and does not like. These include: Aurora, Autumn, Asha, Ebony, India, Ivy, Skye.

Others he has described as "Old lady" names. These include: Eliza, Elsa/Elsie, Lydia...

And then there are the other names he has laughed at, like Felicity, Wren, Fern, Violet.

But, would you believe it? There are some names he likes. The name Lily has special meaning to us, and we also both love Amelia. But we also both agree that they are currently too popular and neither of us want our child to be in a class full of kids with the same name.
Damnit!

However, I have (finally) found three that we agree on, but none of them are really my favourite favourite names (but I guess that could change..):
Pheobe (his favourite)
Kate (but none of the names it is short for like Kaitlyn, Katherine etc)
Jasmine (my favourite)

And there are two boys name we both like:
Dylan (he loves)
Louis
Seth

So, my question is, do you have any sugestions for more girls names that we both might like? But no "hippy" or "old lady" names ;)

If he likes Phoebe, he'll probably like Zoe as well :) I think it's a great name, very ancient but sassy too.

Zoe Amelia?

(not if your last name starts with P though ;) )

I just have to say that I love Jasmine and Dylan!! Jasmine is my very favorite girl's name. Unfortunately, my boyfriend vetoed it the second he heard it. :( (We are not pregnant either, but we talk about baby names a lot) Actually, I really liked a lot of your names. Boo @ him for not liking them. :P

Kate is a valid name in and of itself, not just as a nickname. I know several people named Kate, and it's not short for anything. It's simple and classic and beautiful that way, IMO.

For someone who isnt pregnant or ttc you certainly are strangely into names...

I'm having a baby Amelia (whatever BF may think he's changed it to, that's her name!) & over here (england) it really isnt all that popular. Not to the extent Lily is.. & considering you arent planning on having kids anytime soon both those names will probably drop in popularity.

Lara

If you're worried about really common names, you might want to stay away from Jasmine. It's hugely popular right now.
