I just saw this name in a magazine:

Clairentine.

Maybe because my name is Claire...but I found it pretty odd. Has anyone else ever heard this name before?

It is odd, I'm not even sure how to pronounce it.
I'd never heard it before.

Clarentine would have looked more "right" to me.

Looks like they melded Claire with Clementine.

Which is kind of funny because my parents used to sing the "oh my darling Clementine" to me when I was a baby but changed it to my name- Claire Maree. So it just makes me think of that.

I want to like it. Because my husband and I love Clementine. But it just sounds too much like a shampoo brand.
