Bad, bad parents

I just met a boy, about 4 years old, called Mellyvin. His mother is called Melanie, his dad is Vinnie (Vincent?). I guess they were trying to combine both names or something?

Poor kid.

Whoa! Melvin is a pretty bad name, but it's not like you need to stretch the parents' names to create an approximate name like Mellyvin. Melvin would have worked just fine.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Melvin would have been bad enough, and you could have maybe used Melly as a nickname or something, although I can't see why you would. But this is just atrocious.

Yeah, like they're actually quite lucky in a sense, if they are the type of people who really want to combine their names together for their kid, that it could create an actual legitimate name such as Melvin... and then they go and mangle it like all the people who try to do this but whose names DON'T make a real name! Silly....

My sister went to middle school with a girl who was named Sheldon because her mom and dad were Shelly and Don, haha. Mellyvin is horrible!
