I swear, the area I grew up is a breeding ground for horrific names.

From various articles/obituaries/photos/first birthday announcements:

Kaiyah and Madisyn (twin girls)
Hadleigh
Xenia
Asia
Uganda
Demetria
Micaela
Fawn

Micaela is actually a legit name -- it's the Spanish version of Michaela, pronounces slightly differently. I actually like it.

The rest, though? Ewww.

Of all the countries to name one's child after, why pick Uganda? I don't like any country names, but even Ireland and India are better than that.

I hate the name Mikaela/Michaela/McKayla/etc., but I think Micaela is now my favorite spelling.

I would've liked Hadleigh and Madisyn had they been spelt Hadley and Madison. And Xenia just makes me think of aliens...

Xenia is likely after the Russian saint. IMHO, the life of St Xenia makes her name very special indeed.

I love Hadley, but not Hadleigh...

I love Hadleigh, I don't know why but I had a dream a few months ago that I had a daughter named Hadleigh before I was ever even aware of the name.

Xenia is a legit name. Although unusual and obscure, I've always seen it in baby name books and also knew a girl with the name

I like Xenia. It's a Greek concept that simultaneously means hospitality and the courtesy a guest would show the host.
