i have loved astrid since i first heard it many years ago. i love it less now, its a little harsh sounding for my taste these days, but its still on my list.
I love that name, it's very high on my list =). I once read this book, White Oleander, and the main character is called Astrid. She was so strong and so great, I loved that. So that's why I love the name =).
Freya is ok, but I know someone called Freya. And although she is a nice person...I don't know. I dislike most names that remind me of classmates ;)
I like Astrid better, but only because it's the lesser of two evils. Astrid, I think of an old British woman; Freya makes me think of some Eastern European gypsy or something.
I like Astrid better. Both names make me picture European girls, but while Astrid seems like she'd be a graceful princess, Freya sounds like a peasant.

Date: 2008-06-26 01:37 pm (UTC)I used to like Astrid, but now it just sounds like acid.
Freya reminds me of the goddess, but I think it doesn't sound good at all.
It is FREY-ah, right?
