[identity profile] ladydiddymus.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

I meant to post about this a long time ago, but I don't think I ever did. My mom grew up with a friend named Annabritt, and her parents are from Norway. I can't find anything about it on name websites, though, so I guess it's possible she made it up. Maybe it's because I grew up hearing the name so there's no shock value, but I kind of like it.
What do you think?

I think it's kinda cutesy. I vaguely like it, in theory, but... I dunno.

Kind of like figuring out that my grandma's name, Annia, was made up. I always thought it was a "real" name. Weird!

I like it! I think it's pretty common in Scandinavia to have a name that exists out of two names...whether it's Annabritt or Anna-Britt.
I read a book once with a girl called Mai-Britt in it. I liked that too =)

I don't reaally like it.. I love Anna.... but when I first saw Britt I thought of the boys' name Brett, then I remembered Brittany etc.. and I don't like that either. It seems kind of hard to say, maybe becaues I haven't heard it.

But it's an interesting name! (and I don't mean that as a euphemism for bad lol.... it was quite interesting to see even though it doesn't appeal to me personally)
