What do you think of the name Gemma?
What would you suggest for a middle name?

I love the name; it's my sister's friend's name. Her full name is actually Gemma-Anne, and her middle name is Erin. For middle names, the name Louise came to mind, which is strange because I dislike the name Louise, but it seems to flow.

I love it, but I don't know if I'd use it on a daughter.

I love it. I don't like how it's come to be considered more common (rather than posh or particularly unique) because it's so feminine and pretty in my opinion. I know a Gemma Lillian, which I always thought was nice.

I think of a book ("Gemma" by Meg Tilly) about a little girl who is molested by her mother's boyfriend and then sold to one of his friends to rape.

I like it. I can't really think of middle name suggestions but it seems like one that many names could go with

I like it, especially spelled this way. I like how it looks better than how it sounds.

I've liked it for a while because it's the name of an actress on a show I used to watch as a kid.

I like it alright... not sure I love it though. It reminds me of Gemma Ward, the model.

My friends soon to be born daughter's name will be Paisley Jemma, it was the first time I had heard it. With it as a first name I think a one sylable middle name sounds good. Like the Gemma-Anne mentioned before, goes well.

Do you pronounce the G "jem-uh" as in gemstone or "gem-uh" as in give?

I don't know about the OP, but it's generally pronounced "jem-uh".

Oh I love Gemma. I like Gemma Doyle from the "A Great and Terrible Beauty" trilogy. Love love.

Middles: Noelle, Christine, Elaine, Michelle, Clarisse, basically most middles ending in E, I guess.
