I don't like it. I think it sounds too harsh for a girl's name. Honora I think sounds a little nicer. It's not too bad though considering what some stars name their kids!
I don't really dislike it, like a lot of people seem to; it sounds pretty, but I would never use it. And then the first time I said it out loud, Honor Marie, I thought maybe they're honoring Marie.
Yes, I agree that that is a very nausiating reason to name a child BUT that being said...I love that celebs have the guts to expand our views on what "normal" names should or should not be. I'd rather be Honor or Apple or something "freaky" as you say then Jennifer or Stephanie. (No offense I know many lovely Jenns and Stephs...but you get my drift)
I don't think it's ugly. I think it's just going to take people a while to get used to, and the reason for naming the girl that is ridiculous but anyway. Bottom line. I don't hate it but it sounds SHIT with last name Warren.
I love it. Really, really love it! (Although, I can't stand her explanation behind it.) It is a million times better than Maddie Briann or any of the other trash celebrity names. At least it is a real name!
Aside from the fact that she's a dumbsh*t for the reasoning, I've always liked that name. Makes me think of Honour Blackman, from The Avengers.
Honoria is very old fashioned, but I like that as well. My husband's family has quite a few Honours if you go back far enough.
I tend to like "virtue" names, though. Grace, Faith, Constance, Patience. We used to joke about having twin boys and naming them Temperance and Fortitude.
(There was a MASH episode where the stupid special intelligence guy was trying to bribe Charles, and mentioned something about his parents and sister "on-or-EE-a" back in Boston. Needless to say, he was corrected very coldly.)
I have always really liked it since Logan's sister in Gilmore Girls was named Honor Huntsberger. However, I would never name my child that because I could foresee this... "I want to get Honor [on her]" or something along those lines. I don't want to make my child an easy target!

Date: 2008-06-25 02:25 am (UTC)dude, people get famous and lose all sense of - well- sense. and reasoning.
celebs statistically have the oddest baby names. like what, you're so special you can give your kid some freaky name and it's all good??? why???
lol sorry /tangent but seriously. I'm pretty irked at that being the reason for using a name like Honor.

Date: 2008-06-25 01:55 pm (UTC)maybe it's the sense of entitlement that bugs me. def that reasoning is ridiculous though. the comment just sounds so cheesy and pretentious.
either way it's better than Maddie Briann (I'm a Brianne and I kinda take offense to her using that mn lol) and 1,000 times better than Jayden James!!
