My cousins' names

Just wondering what you guys think. We visited one of my cousins while driving through their town on our honeymoon. I think the names are fine, a bit all of the same flavor, though, and NMS.

my second cousins(or once removed. whatever it is)
Parents Richard( Rick) and Rachel
Aubrey-- I think this name 'goes' with the others, but FWIW she's from a previous marriage of Rick's
Ashton-- not a bad name, but the mother, my cousin, has a sister name Ashley and one of her brothers just married an Ashlie. We've serisouly consdiered Ashley for a boy, but we don't see that part of th family much anyway. It might be kinda weird, though, since our daughter's name was Brenna and it didn't even occur to me that Rachel brother is Brennon and her mother is Brenda.

And for good measure-- some of my cousins.. all siblings. I see a definite trend towards more unusual names as they had more and more children.

It amuses me that their names used to strike me as insanely weird, but as the years go by seem more and more comparably normal.

I like Carter, Parker and Hunter, but not when I see them all together like that, haha.

And wow, wow. Creed, Shaffer, Stryder, Britton and Bowman? I'm kind of just like, shocked. Those are all so bad.

Brenna- not at all feminine and ugly sounding

All three of these are surname-names. They're unisex and really trendy. I hate that kind of name genre.

Ashlie- Terrible spelling, dated name.
Summer- Pretty
Charity- really? I don't see the appeal in this at all.
Ryan- A bit bland
Rachel- Boring
John Brennon- Okay, NMS
Bowman- Surname, kind of weird.
Britton- Surname
Creed- A system of religious beliefs, but it sounds so harsh. Charity's brother by any chance?
Shaffer- A sound? This is so horrible
Stryder- Parents were ahead of their time. Ryder is in right now, won't be long before Stryder is next.
Paris- I used to like paris, on a boy. Before Ms Hilton.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough-- the second set(12) I listed, Ashlie(missspell, btw.. sorry, I meant Ashley; Stryder's wife is spelled Ashlie) through Paris, are all siblings, from my uncle and his wife. You're right about the surname thing-- the parents were fans of naming their kids after families they were close to. John Brennon was also named for a family and went by Brennon. I think they went for a mix, of religious, virtuous, and familial names. The first set(5) I listed are Rachel's children. Yeah, I don't care for that type of name.. maybe one by itself, but all together are a bit much.

Lol, yes Ashley is a bit dated, and not a name I care for on women, but makes sense since the woman is almost 30. =)

Brenna was my daughter. Her first name was actually Brenna Rose, but we often just called her Brenna. I think it's a lovely name. Oh well, to each his own.

Clear about what? I just commented on the names..

I seem to be a fan of the overtly frilly names- Aurora, Annabel, Florence..etc

Brenna sounds rather frumpy to me, and bends in with the Jenna/Hannah/Laura/Sarah genre.

Names are so subjective.
