Scott (I know a guy I don't like very much by this name, but I might use this for a middle name, if I ever have a son. It was my cousin's middle name, who drowned, and I would like to honour him somehow. However, I would probably use his first name, Daniel, as a middle name or something, but I wouldn't rule this name out entirely just because it was my cousin's middle name).

I have trouble knowing whether I would like the name if it weren't for the person, but I get what you mean. If I already like the name people aren't really likely to change that, so most of mine come from my childhood when I was still forming my opinions about the names. If it's more recent, it's usually a celebrity that is way too associated with the name now.
