i still dont get why people name their kids like cities, countries, states, etc.

Brookly, Paris, Phoenix, etc.. and now Alabama!

H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E.

Sounds like a dog name to me.

I'm ok with using place names if they're significant to the family, but not if they sound really silly with last names -- if you say it out loud it sounds like it would be a drink you could order at a bar in Huntsville or something.

Heh, Huntsville. I thought only people who lived in AL knew about Huntsville.

I totally agree with that, BTW. I could just imagine someone ordering that at a bar here!

It's LUELLA, not LOLA.

If they think they're starting a new name place trend (paris-like) they are sadly mistaken.
Alabama is terrible, awful, atrocious. I can only tell it's a girl because of the middle name Lola (which is sort of pretty but a getting a bit popular & reminds me of strippers)- of course they are crazy celebrities & are could be using Lola on a boy.

Okay so it's Luella. That's even worse than Lola...

Eww I hate Alabama and I hate Lola.

Hmm don't think it's too bad, sound wise. Fits the other place name trend* obviously, but still offbeat.
Suppose Allie is a cute nickname.

Luella is nmsaa, but not so bad.

*which isn't a trend I'm into personally but don't have a major objection to.

its after a character in the movie true romance.

i'm not saying it okay, i'm just saying they didn't pull it out of the air. and its not so much after a place as it is after a character.

anyways, its a mouthful.

The sound "bam" is just not something I'd want in my daughter's name.

Atleast they're not naming the kid Bam.
Bam Margera's parents really named him BAM.

I think the daughter picked it out.
I believe Travis and Shana wanted Briar but the daughter didn't like that and wanted Alabama so Alabama it was.

I'm pretty sure the story they tell is that Alabama is named after Patricia Arquette's character in a movie. And I think the character was a hooker, too.

I heard that Alabama is from the movie because it's their favorite, but they also did ask Shanna's daughter Atiana whether she preferred Briar or Alabama, & she picked Alabama.

Ew, no. Not a fan. I really don't think children should be named after states (I don't care if it was a movie character or not, most people are going to think state.)

heh. I personally dont like it much, but if you look at some other celebrity's baby's names, it's not so bad. at least it can pass as an actual name... =D

I don't know why..... but I kind of like it. But then again when I was like 12 I SWORE I was going to name my first baby girl Crystal Chandelier..... Thank god I wasn't having babies then....

Well I'm having a girl and now Jeff and I are arguing over the names Zoe (my choice) and Danika (His choice)..... And some people think those are weird.....
