[identity profile] moshimoshi-13.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

My friend was telling me about what she plans on naming her kids in the future. Here is the list:

Keaton
Griffith
Frances
Sian

I never thought I'd say this but Frances is the best name on the list.

I like Frances and Sian a lot, but not the others. And none of them go together at all! Billie Jean in particular stands out.

I think Billie is cute for a girl.

I don't care for it at all. I once thought it could be cute, but I knew two girls, sisters, named Billie and Bobbie when I was young-- the combo made me hate both names.

Billie Jean is not my lover she's just a girl....

Yeah...ummm no even if it was the cutest name in the world the song ruined the name. :)

I like Keaton and Frances.

How do you pronounce Sian? Is it like Sean?

Sian is the feminine version of Sean, so theyre said vey similarly.

Sian has more of an arr sounds to it whereas sean is more of an urr. if that makes sense??

I actually think Frances is kind of cute, it's the name of my friend's mother and and it's 'Baby's' name in dirty dancing.. and it's only good on a girl, but I don't know if it's cute enough to overcome the giant dork-factor. Sian is okay, but I don't even like it's traditional spellings (I'm thinking pron. Shawn/Sean?), let alone this one.

Billie Jean is so out of place lol

Sian prn like?

I prefer Griffin to Griffith, Frances is a bit to unisex for my taste (in that I never know when a Frances is m or f)

Keaton is last-name-y but doable. Keat is a GREAT nickname!

If it is Frances, it's female. Francis is male.
I don't know if that will help you.

BILLIE JEAN?! you have to be kidding. if she names her kid that, she has to have the song playing behind her at all times whenever she is in public.

I like the name Griffith.

Sian is pronounced like Sharn usually.
It's my middle name.
