I'm not sure they feel "equal", going by semantics. If it makes sense, the sky is something always present, whereas summer is, well, seasonal. So it feels a little unbalanced to me.
Not saying that something too matchy would have been better, in fact Summer and Winter would surely have been worse. Maybe I would have gone with Sky and Ocean. But then again, maybe they were trying not to match them up too much.
I'm not too keen on twins sharing initials, though.
I agree about liking the names individually, but them being too themey together. Maybe if one of the names was a bit 'out-there', or different, but not nature-related, I don't know.
ehr.. not that great together. Aside from that, Summer is probably my least-favorite of the season/month/day/weather names. Sky is good on paper and has a lovely connotation, but has a rather ugly pronunciation.
they're both awesome and it was a creative way to name twins... but i wonder if this person has ever done any kind of research on twins. naming your set "summer sky" is not a good way to give them initial individuality.

Date: 2008-06-21 05:24 pm (UTC)I like the hippie-ness of it, but that seems very common among twins these days.
I know a girl, and she named her twins (now 5 or 6) Starr and Skye.
She has 2 other kids, Jace (about 2) and Gage (9 or 10).
