maybe Martin was them going for "Martine" which is a French girl's name? but they left off the 'e"? When I think Brynn I spell it with two 'n's and they left one of those off too so who knows? ;p

It's funny... names that I thought were kind of different back when seem to be popping up all over lately. Not straight out Uneek names or anything just not heard very often or sometimes hardly at all.
