Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge had their baby this morning. It's a girl named Maddie Briann. I personally think the name is awful, but in celebrity land, it could be much worse. WDYT?

Had it been Madeline Brianne, then kudos to them. But I guess it would have been way too classier than their names, and no one wants a daughter to overshine them :P

Also, the two Spears have a brother Bryan, which makes it a little more weird to me.

Briann, it's okay, but it would look better like Brianne. But you're right, for a celeb, it's not bad at all!
I was just reading today that she wanted to name the baby after a mix of his and her names - either Cailynn (ugh) or Cassie (cute, and while I don't usually like nn's as full names, it wouldn't have been that bad). Guess they changed their minds.

I really like Kaelyn or Cailin as a name, but not Cailynn. I guess Maddie's better than that.

see Maddie is a cute name the only problem I have with it is that it's so much of just a little girl name to me. I can't see a full grown woman with it :\

that being said though, one of my naming pet peeves is to give the full name but then call the kid by a nickname. if you're gonna call them by the nickname just name them that from the get go!

My grandmommy and I were talking about this, and she wrote it off as an unfortunate nod to how young she is. I wonder why she gave her daughter a nickname that won't grow with her past the age of 15, and why she spelt the middle name so off. Ugh.

Briann just makes me want to say Brian, the boys name, which also annoys me since Jamie Lynn's older brother's name is Bryan.

Bryan is her brother
the ending nn is like Lynn...for her and her mom
Bri - also the first 3 letters of Britney

So when you really think about it she has her mom, herself, her brother and Britney all somehow honored in her daughters middle name

I think thats pretty cool..and Briann sounds nice with Maddie
