Honest opinions of the names Magnus and Matilda.
I adore both, but I also feel the movie Matilda shaped by childhood, and I loved the characters who had these names...so you see.

I like Matilda a lot. I can see it on a kid as well as an adult, and it has good potential for a variety of nicknames without being a name that everyone would *automatically* shorten if you didn't want them to.

Magnus, not so much. I don't know why, I just don't like it. Maybe because Matilda could have come from anywhere, but the only thing I think of when I hear the name Magnus is this book/movie. And I think it goes without saying not to put both in the same sibset, as the connotations would be way too strong.
