Not quite. But that's why I won't actually name my daughter that, because I'm afraid everyone will mispronounce it.
It's more like Luh-tees (I suck at writing things phonetically, btw, but that's an ok approximation)
It was a fairly popular name in Tudor England. The most famous Lettice was probably Lettice Knollys, who was a cousin of Elizabeth I and an ancestor of Princess Di and Winston Churchill. (I'm a history major, if you couldn't tell ;D)
I love the name, especially because of the historical associations (I'm a Tudor geek and I think Lettice Knollys was just awesome. Elizabeth grew to hate her, but she was kinda cool, actually).
But if I had a daughter, I would be too afraid people would always call her Lettuce.
