My partner and I were talking about names the other night (a rare occurance) and he didn't like many of my top names at all. The only one we both really agreed on was Isabel/Isabella.

My names (that he didn't really like)
Ruby
Milla
Asher
Lucas/Luke

Names that neither of us like:
Joshua
Lauren/Laura

Names that he didn't turn his nose up to:
Hamish
Darcy/D'Arcy

Names that he suggested:
Liam
Gabriel

What other names could I suggest to him that you think he might like?

Note: Must flow with his lastname, which sounds like "Simpsons"

i prefer isabel to isabella.
and oh my god ruby is my number one girls name right now. ADORE it.
i also like asher and lucas/luke/luca, liam and gabriel.

hamish and darcy/d'arcy are so ... odd.

Darcy is okay, but D'Arcy is awful. Hamish, while I know it's a legit name, is just . . . way way way too out there unless you live in a community where that name is going to be common. I think to 95% of the world that one's going to raise some eyebrows, and I really can't think of a nickname that would make it any better.

I love Liam, Gabriel, Asher, Lucas, Evan, Ruby, and Isabel. I don't like Isabella and Milla is okay but NMS.

I prefer Isabel, by far, to Isabella. In fact it is on my list of tops right now. Although I also like the spelling Isobel. Which is not some crazy-retro newly invented spelling, it's a legitimate version. (*defensive* (since I'm really not a fan of "creative" spellings)) Anyway...

I really love Luca and Lucas!

I don't know how to go about suggesting a name he might like, because I am not so sure I can grasp his style based on just those few he approved of or suggested but maybe...
Ian? Cameron? Neil? Douglas? Isaac?
Dina? Gabriella? Gabrielle?

Even knowing how D'Arcy is pronounced, I can never help but read it as "duh-arcy", with the wrong intital vowel sound and a little hiccuping pause in the middle there. It sounds a little, well, arse-y.

I know Hamish is unpopular here, but I see a big, friendly White guy with pink wind-burnt cheeks and a bushy red beard and I love it. Also, he is a cartoon.

i'm in the minority, but i prefer d'arcy to darcy. reminds me of d'arcy wretzky of the smashing pumpkins and she's amazing.
