Okay guys! I really adore this community!

I'm posting tonight because my older sister (Heather) is trying to conceive and she asked me for some name advice. I asked what her original choices were and she told me Devin Evans(m), Demonkin Evans(m) or Wisdom Evans(f) and Precious Evans(f) (YUCK). I begged her to reconsider and she asked me to make her a list. So I did, WDYT? My personal taste is not over done but not hideous.

I don't particularly like all of these names but I was trying to appeal to her taste (Which apparently I did not acomplish) because she hated any names I really really really liked. My sister has pretty bad taste.. After reviewing my list she settled on Aimee Evans for a girl, but I think she's still dead set on Devin Evans.. why rhyming names whyyy

Some of these name meanings might be wrong.. damn internet

Homygod, if she names her kid Demonkin, I will cry.

That said, there were many names on your list I didn't care for, either, such as:

Attor (do you really want to name your kid Poison?)
Hades (see above)
Dax, Raziel, Alita, etc (looks made up)
Hyde (maybe you can name his brother Jackal)
Dior (trashy, as mentioned below
Remy (...as you said, it's Gambit from X-Men. Also a rat with an affinity for cooking.)
Eros (I think you'll see why this is entirely unacceptable if you just Google this.)

None of these are as bad as Demonkin, but some of them are up there with your sister's other choices, IMO. I'd really think twice about those.

if you're as hardcore a fangirl about X men as I am you'd love the name remy.. Haahaha, just because its the name of a few cartoon characters doesnt necessarilly make it bad in my opinion, but maybe because the profession of my choice is a cartoonist.
Claudia means lame, I suppose that goes along with 'why would you name your child poision?' wouldn't want to name them lame either.
Dax, Raziel, and alita came from babynames.com though, so I'm not sure if they are made up names or not. I think I like Dex more than Dax though, still not too crazy about it.

Come to think of it I think I prefer leo over leon too.
Avery sounds great with their last name

I don't mind borrowing names coinciding with fictional characters, or even being inspired by said fictional characters, but I don't like the name itself except possibly as a nn for a girl (though for what, I have no idea).

It was more the fact that you listed poison as the meaning, and yet it's on your list -- I don't know why you'd want your nephew associated with that.

Dex as a nn for Dexter might work. Leo is good, and Avery does indeed sound fantastic with their last name. I just feel like a lot of these names sound like they came out of a generic sort of anime, and that's not something I'd personally want to associate with my children's names. I like anime, but not that much, you know?

Yeah, I like remy for a boy but I wouldnt use it. I only say its unisex cause I know a girl named Remy, also babynames.com says its unisex,, I dont like it for a girl but I like it better than precious or wisdom. :x
Also Iunno, I like attor just because it sounds good with evans..I'm also biased because its a comic book character of mine rofl.

Dexter is cute, but I wouldnt use it. I'd say her best bets were aimee (or amy) and avery.
