Jun. 9th, 2008 06:22 pmI work at Dairy Queen, and we write things on cakes for people if they wish. There were a couple names that we had which struck me as different, or not heard of very often:
Shyla (which I think is kind of cute)
Nola (I like this one, even though it reminds me of Nolan, which is not a favorite of mine).
Gill (pronounced like Jill. I know that Gillian is a way of spelling Jillian, but it just looks odd to me, and I had never met/heard of anyone named that prior).
WDYT?

Date: 2008-06-09 09:08 pm (UTC)Gillian was #2 on our list for girl names, but people kept saying that we should spell it Jillian so that the nickname Jill would work--Gill looked too odd to them. My husband and I didn't like that spelling though, so we axed it.. in retrospect, I almost wished we had used it.

Date: 2008-06-09 09:50 pm (UTC)Gillian is another favorite of mine, recently added to the list, and I'm still undecided about a nickname. Gill makes the most sense, of course, but...Gill?
