My nieces are Lily (Lillian Catherine) and Rose (Rosaleigh Aurora Louise). I just saw the Sex and the City movie, and Lily and Rose were names used in that movie too! Back when the girls' mother was pregnant, they talked about flower names-my cousin wanted Magnolia/Maggie. I pushed for Laurel or Violet, but no one listens to me. :P Anyways, I was just curious as to what everyone thought of these flower/plant names:

ETA: "Iis" in the poll is a typo-meant to be IRIS.

Did you maybe mean "Iris" instead of "Iis"?

I like almost all the girls names, except for Poppy which I hatehatehate.
Daisy is a current strong favorite (nothing I'd use, but I like it a lot).

For boys, I only like Oliver and Ross, which I didn't know was a plant, but now that I know I like it even more! (I guess I'm more hippie than I'd admit :P)

I love Hadley but ONLY on a girl.

I also love Heather, Lily, Linnea, Poppy, Violet, Willow (it is my cat's name) and Oliver.

I hate Riley, but it should be under the boy names as well, since that's what it is.

Roisin is high on my list!
I like 'plain' flower names like Rose and Lily, but I really like Laurel as well.

Oh, and Oleander is my favourite plant/flower...so I like that as a guilty pleasure for a boy.

I really like Briony. And Olive is one of my absolute favourites.

When I was on holiday I met sisters called Hazel and Laural.
The only ones I don't like for girls are Angelica, Holly, Jasmine, Myrtle and Oleander, and none of those are dislike of the name, just personal reasons. But not too keen on the boys names except I love Asher.

Your mood theme is wonderful.

Eek! I missed Grover. Such a great name. For boys, I also like Basil and Coriander. More guilty pleasure names than serious names.

I would like Olive if my grandfather hadn't tried to get my parents to use it for me. Our last name starts with Pit.

Ivy is my #1 girls name.

Lily IS nice, it's just that I am so darn sick of hearing it that I don't really like it anymore. way overdone.

My daughters are Rose and Iris. Initially, if we were going to continue with flower names after Rose was born, it was going to be Lily. It just didn't work, though, so we debated for two days what name we'd like to name her but nothing seemed right. I went through the baby book again, and Iris was it. We didn't continue the theme with my boys, though. We thought about it, but in the end we have Spencer and Grant.
